Chess Board Game winning strategies depend on math facts. Math facts are used to solve chess problems. This is the fifth principle of basic math concepts we have discussed relating to chess strategy and math concepts. It is one that is so simple that everyone is aware of, but do not realize how little strategists apply it and how little it is believed. When it comes to the academic study of math that all students working their way through their elementary or secondary education must have, it is easy to start to wonder if there is a law somewhere that math lessons have to be boring and dry. Think about it! Our culture today is all about instant gratification. It is all about 'I want it now.' Yet Math is counter culture. Math is about struggling to understand. Math is about working out a solution and maybe even going down a few dead ends before the solution reveals itself. Math is work. It's no wonder that learning math is rejected in our 'let's make it easy' society.
